Fantastic human, hello! Today, we’re diving into one of the most exciting updates in iPadOS 26 — Apple Reminders. The app is looking better than ever, and it feels like Apple finally gave it the love it deserves. So let’s check out what’s new, what’s improved, and why you might start using Apple Reminders a lot more after this update.
UI Refresh
First up — the design. The user interface in Apple Reminders is very beautiful. It feels polished, clean, modern, and easier to navigate. One thing I love is the new sidebar. It’s actually more resizable than the one in Apple Notes, which gives you a lot more flexibility. It actually makes a difference.
Creating lists and sections is much easier too. Everything just feels more intuitive. Even the little popup that appears under the inspection icon has a fresh look. Oh, and the keyboard toolbar? Apple moved it to the task you’re focused on — which makes sense. It keeps the keyboard less cluttered and helps you focus.
Smart Sections and Apple Intelligence
Now let’s talk about one of the smartest new features — automatic sections. Apple Reminders can now create sections for your lists automatically. So if you’re someone who struggles to stay organised, Apple Intelligence can step in and help. The feature is really handy when your tasks are kind of all over the place. It’ll group things into sections for you.
That said, it’s not perfect yet. If you add new tasks after your sections are already created, it doesn’t handle them as well. This has improved with the latest beta, though. So, it is becoming more reliable.
Apple Notes Integration
This next one is definitely my favourite — Apple Notes integration. In iPadOS 26, you no longer need to drag and drop your notes into Reminders. Instead, Reminders can now connect directly with Notes. If you’ve got typed notes, you can link them straight into a reminder. The app can extract the to-do title, its notes, and link to the notes. Even images in your notes are automatically added to your new task. That means no more bouncing back and forth trying to keep everything in sync.
However, at the moment, it only works with typed notes for. Handwritten notes aren’t supported yet, but I really hope Apple adds handwriting support in a future update. That would be game-changing. Once, though, maybe it was a bug coz we haven’t been able to replicate it. Once, we did manage to export some typed notes with the handwritten parts as images. So, maybe handwriting is supported, just buggy.
This is awesome for things like grocery lists. I was hoping Apple Intelligence could pick up on the check lists as individual tasks or subtasks. It couldn’t. But, any integration is much appreciated right now. If you’ve been keeping them in Notes, you can now create a reminder, and it will connect straight back to the note. That’s a feature I’ve personally been waiting years for, and I’m really glad it’s finally here. It is amazing!!!
Conclusion
So those are the biggest updates to Apple Reminders in iPadOS 26. Between the sleek new design, automatic sections with Apple Intelligence, and the powerful integration with Apple Notes, this feels like the most complete version of Apple Reminders yet.
But now I want to hear from you — which feature are you most excited about?
