Woke up to an update from LiquidText for comments; auto-positioning them to the margins of our documents, and I found the perfect culprit.
Notability and Freenotes are the latest handwriting apps to join the AI frenzy with Notability 14.10 and Freenotes 2.7.
Exciting updates are rare to come by these days in handwriting note-taking apps. But iPadOS 18 has been great for Apple Notes and Goodnotes has joined the party with their 6.5 update.
Nebo has given us a couple of updates in the last couple of months, and we’ll be covering them from Nebo 5 and their latest version, Nebo 6, to see what we can do in the app now.
We have received a lot of updates from Goodnotes 6 in the last couple of months. Our review of the app is due for an update now, because it’s not the same app anymore. But, before we get to that, let’s see what has been happening in the app.
I updated to iPadOS 18.1 for the Developer Beta. The Public Beta of iPadOS 18 is also available now; not sure how long it’s been around. Are any of you guys trying it out?
We have been waiting a long time for the Calculator app on the iPad. Was it worth the wait?
At the WWDC24 keynote, I got a glimpse at some changes that might make some of us reconsider using the app in iPadOS 18. The updates are few but significant.
A few features are missing in MarginNote 4, which we had in MarginNote 3. We could collaborate before, but now we can’t.
These updates are the most interesting we have received for Apple Notes in what feels like years now.
Apple Intelligence was the biggest announcement, which felt mostly like repetition with few additions to what Apple had already presented.
We also received several minor updates during the same period that are worth mentioning. We now have a ruler tool in the app.
Notability’s new privacy policy clearly outlines that we can’t delete our text transcripts from their servers. That’s a cause for concern.
GoodNotes 6 is the worst update GoodNotes has released to date. We see it as the developers’ way to raise money for the development of generative AI tools that no one has ever requested.
